Rules & General Information

  1. STRUCTURE

    1. League play consists of 6 nine-hole rounds played over 3 months.

      • Players may complete 8 nine-hole rounds and drop the worst 2 rounds

    2. The 12 players with the most cumulative points advance to a bracket head to head tournament

      • The first two seeds receive a bye in the first round

    3. Points are scored using a Net Modified Stableford Scoring (see scoring details below)

  2. LOGISTICS

    1. League play may be completed at any golf course that meets the following criteria:

      • The slope is equal to or greater than 105

      • The "9 hole total par" is equal to or greater than 33

    2. League play must be completed with a minimum of 1 other Low Key Golf member

      • If your league round is without a member of the league, there is a 3 point penalty (not gross score, but Stableford score)

    3. There will be League Dues of $50.00 required from each regular player.

      • The League dues will be used toward Golf League Tracker, prizes, or any other necessary expenses incurred during the year and for the fall League playoff.

  3. Playoffs

    1. The top 12 scores of regular league play will play in a head to head playoff bracket

      • Top four places get a first-round bye

    2. Matched players will have two weeks to coordinate a time to meet

    3. All playoff matches will take place at the back nine at Tilden, unless both players agree to play somewhere else

    4. Format of playoff matches will be Stableford score.

    5. Tie in a playoff match (stableford scoring) will result in a putt-off sudden death elimination on the putting green

      • The player who made the last shot will chose the first putt distance and shoot first

      • Whoever takes the lease amount of shots in the putt off wins the match. Continue putting and alternate who picks the putt until there is a winner

  4. RULES OF PLAY

    1. All players use the White Tee Box

    2. All players are allowed a “Breakfast Ball” from the first tee box (mulligan option on very first shot)

    3. Maximum score on a hole is a triple bogey. After you reach a triple bogey, pick up your ball and proceed to the next hole

    4. All other rules are governed by USGA

  5. NET MODIFIED STABLEFORD SCORING

    1. NOTE - the system will automatically count the Stableford scoring. When submitting a score card, you only need to include your gross score, and any long putt, chip-in, or full shot in.

    2. Players will earn points with the following scoring. Note, this is "Net" so if you're an 18 handicap and your gross score is a bogey, it will count as a Par

      • Hole Points

        1. Net Albatross: 8

        2. Net Eagle: 6

        3. Net Birde: 3

        4. Net Par: 1

        5. Net Bogey or Higher: 0

      • Bonus Points

        1. > Twelve Foot Putt: .5

          1. Must be called out before the shot

          2. Can only be attempted one time per hole

        2. Chip-In: 1.5

          1. Must be a chip (not putting off the green)

          2. < 30 yards from hole

        3. Full Swing In: 2.5

          1. > 30 yards from hole

  6. SUBMITTING SCORECARD

    1. Submit League Scorecard by emailing image of scorecard to "thomas.andrew.schneider@gmail.com" or Tim Durkee

      • Include name of players in the email

      • Include signature of scorekeeper and accompanying players

    2. Within scorecard

      • Enter the Gross score, not net (the system will automatically set the net)

      • Indicate a long putt or chip in the a circle around a P (Putt), C (Chip), or F (Full) in the corner of the score

  7. HANDICAP

    1. Before league begins, submit your 18 hole handicap to Tom or Tim.

    2. After every three rounds, handicaps will update after each hole (based on previous 6 completed rounds).

    3. Handicap will roll over to the next season

  8. FINAL RULE
